Strawberry Banana Probiotic Smoothie

Just a good old take on the classic strawberry banana probiotic smoothie combination.

This smoothie is loaded with probiotics from the Power-17 I've included and the milk kefir, which has tons of live and active cultures. You could probably just include one or the other, but a lot of the strains in the milk kefir are different than Power-17's. The microbes you might find in milk kefir include Lactococci, Sacchromyces, and Leuconostoc, Lactobacillus and more.

Another great benefit from this smoothie? Fiber! 14 grams in 500 calories is pretty great for digestion. The USDA recommends 14 grams for every 1,000 calories a day, so you're already more than halfway towards the goal of 28 per day.


  • 1 cup strawberries
  • Half or whole banana depending on how sweet you want the smoothie
  • 1/2 cup milk (I use vanilla almond milk)
  • 1/2 cup plain milk kefir
  • 1/4 cup raw oats
  • pinch of almonds
  • 1 Power-17 pearl
  • 1 tbsp of peanut butter (I use Crazy Richard's)
  • 1/2 cup ice

Add all of the ingredients into your blender, ice first, then enjoy!
